Well, its been a long time since i wanted to start a blog of my own. Have been reading quiet a few blogs from various eminent personalities over the last few months. I was wondering what would be a good topic to blog upon, how can i contribute to the blogosphere and improve my knowledge by exchaning ideas and so on.
What best topic other than the NASSCOM Product Workshop to start my blog. Last week on Sep 1st, 2007, NASSCOM organized an workshop on “What & How to build Challenges of a Product Business”. Enterpreneurs for all over the country made to this event. After a tiresome overnight journey we reached Hotel Leela Palace, enthusiastic and all armed with materials to jot down the knowledge shared by eminent personalities.
We had very good speakers like Subhash Menon of Subex Azure who was the program chair. Various challenges faced by the product companies in Marketing, HR and VC's was well touched upon my Sanjeev Garde, Ravi Kyran and Sanjeev Anandaram.
Indian IT companies have always been regarded as an Software Services companies and not an Software Product company. As a person involved in marketing for a product start up company based out of Bangalore, this workshop gave me a lot of insights on various challenges and how to overcome these challenges when you are releasing a product to the market.
Subhash Menon and Lin Chase shared their experiences when they started their companies, what were they challenges they faced, how they overccame those, their success as well as their failures.
These were well supported by questions from various participants, some seasoned enterpreneurs and some budding enterpreneurs.
People from well known companies like Hewlett Packard, Verisign, IBM , Siemens and other product companies like Oaksys, Grenada, Starent Networks, Robosoft Technologies made it to this event.Overall it was an event worth attending, which gave me a lot of new ideas as to improve my marketing team within the company.
Looking forward to meet my buddies of the NASSCOM product Workshop in November during the NASSCOM product Conclave.
